This is a fine Thermometer with a high range- (-200 to 999°C or -328 to 999°F). We keep a similar one on our metrology lab and regularly have the K type probe calibrated for traceability. This is not new, but from a reputable maker (Hanna UK), and the manual is available as a pdf download on the web. Uses a 9v battery 9 (not supplied), and is supposed to be waterproof. I know they used to make a yellow rubber boot that would fit over this, but we don't have one. Although it works well, the wire pigtail to the probe is dirty and is cracking a bit-- this is not the wiring itself, but the sheathing for the wiring. Other thermocouples could be used with this item. Overall, a quality piece.
