It's used to expand the soundstage when used as room treatment or to improve noise and dynamics when used on electronics. It's similar to Synergistic Research's HFTs. I bought too many of these, so selling the excess - I currently keep some on my preamp and power conditioners. These currently retail for $550AUD per device in Australia. It's recommended to start with 4 and place one on each corner of the room facing the listening position. Note: I have removed the carpet pads on the bottom of the holostages, and used double tape instead. So you'll see the back have some glue residue, which can be seen in the photos.
