This high quality opalized limb cast is very translucent in some places, and more opaque in others. The opal is mostly white, but a creme to caramel colored opal runs throughout, and is more translucent. Further cleansing of prehistoric mud with boiling water and a toothbrush would likely reveal more of the beautiful patterns in the wood. This specimen does retain a quality wood texture, and feels like a stone branch when held. Recommend displaying as is, cleaning further or cutting the end(s) and polishing.
