HOMER LAUGHLIN EGGSHELL NAUTILUS "APPLE BLOSSOM" SAUCER The Homer Laughlin China Company was established in 1871 by Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin, two brothers who lived in East Liverpool, Ohio. For over a century, the company has prided itself on its high-quality, America-made pottery and continues to this day. In 2010, Homer Laughlin purchased The Hall China Company in East Liverpool, and under the new HLC, Inc. name the two brands are the sole potteries in the area. This lovely SAUCER by Homer Laughlin features DELIGHTFUL PINK and WHITE APPLE BLOSSOMS & BUDS ON GREEN BRANCHES with muted leaves in the vintage "EGGSHELL NAUTILUS APPLE BLOSSOM" pattern. The APPLE BLOSSOM pattern was made from early 1942....This one has the HLC mark....Eggshell Nautilus U.S.A. "47" on the bottom, which means it was made in 1947 (or if it has "48" in 1948. The saucer features a beautiful, delicate floral pattern of Pink & White Apple blossoms on an ivory background, trimmed in gold. CONDITION: VERY GOOD. Please see photos and below which complete the description: The gold trim, except for light gold wear, is still in very good shape. As you can see in the photos, the design is still bright and vibrant....no fading. As with any vintage china, there is light utensil wear and normal wear. In addition,as with all dinnerware produced during this time frame, there are the small manufacturing flaws on the bottom that add character to vintage china. There may be shelf marks on the bottom.
