These control valves draw ambient air into the water stream through a special fitting called a venturi. The pressure of the water going through the jets allow air to be drawn in and then mixed with the water to create bubbles. These fittings allow one to have the added plus of bubbles in the jet stream with out the need for forced air from a dedicated air blower.
