There does appear to be an intermittent connection between the plug-in, and mainframe. I suspect cleaning the connectors may fix the problem, but I didn't try doing this. It could also be an intermittent connection(s) in the plug-in, such as where the cards plug in. I found that adjusting the plug-in lock, or pushing the plug-in back and forth (very little) caused the CRT dots to shift vertically, sometimes going completely off screen. I was able to do basic checks of the 8755A, and the controls appear to give the expected result. For example, 10 dB offset moved dot 1 division, when 10 dB/div was selected. selected. The 180TR controls all gave the expected results. I could get a well focused dot, scale illumination works well. I could move the dot horizontally, with the position control, and got a horizontal line, with ac hum introduced to external input. Again I'm not saying it will pass performance tests, just that I got the results I expected, with basic checks. I left unit powered on for a couple hours (with intensity turned down to a faint dot), and it remained stable. Being sold as-is, not fully tested, and may need connectors cleaned. I would prefer to fully check, and correct any issues, but I have too many pieces, and my wife doesn't want me to spend the time. Power cord included. No other cables or sensors included.
