The 2 Indian rupee note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of India in 1977. It is a brown, orange, green, and blue note that bears the signature of Ram Narain Malhotra, and measures 107 x 63 mm. Its obverse side features a language panel, a peacock, an ornate wheel, the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, and the RBI seal with a tiger and a palm tree. Its reverse side shows the Aryabhata satellite orbiting Earth. Though there is no security thread, there is still a watermark of the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, denomination 2, and a vertical RBI.
