It is a brown, green, orange, purple, and black note that is dated 6 January 1982, bear the signatures of Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and Fortunato Speziali, and measures 112 mm x 61 mm. Its obverse side features the seal of the Maritime Republics, a griffon and dragon underprint, and a portrait of Marco Polo. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows the Doge’s Palace in Piazza San Marco. Security features include a solid security thread and a watermark of Marco Polo with an electrotype BI monogram.
