Check the listing for details. JGC Violin, Early/Mid 20th century Violin. Listed at 90.00 USD. For sale is a JGC Student Violin. The Jackson Guldan Company made student grade violins here in the US in the 1920's through the 50's that were sold by Targ and Dinner of Chicago. They turned out about 30,000 instruments a year. The violins came in several grades, all in American woods we believe. While the names changed through time, the models were essentially an OK student model with painted-on purling and plain maple, one or two better models with fancier flamed maple and real purfling and a higher-end model I've never seen. I have one of the better student models and it is a really nice fiddle. Set up with rather edgy steel strings and played hard it is great fiddle for country music and any other high-energy stuff.
