Document signed: "Joan Rivers" twice in red ink and by a representative of George Schlatter Productions in black ink. Red ink notations in unknown hand, 3p, 8½x11, bound with 1 staple, photocopy. Los Angles, California, 1987 May 14. Addressed to Rugby Productions, Inc., c/o Bill Sammeth Organization, Los Angeles, California attn: Mr. Bill Sammeth. Rivers signed this contract to confirm that she would appear as a performer at the American Comedy Awards. Her compensation for this appearance was detailed in "Exhibit A", not enclosed. Joan Rivers (born in 1933) is an actress and comedian who gained notoriety while working as the regular stand-in for Johnny Carson (1983-1986) and honing her act in comedy clubs. She later hosted a talk show, The Joan Rivers Show (1989-1993), for which she won an Emmy Award. Rivers also appeared in television movies, such as How To Murder a Millionaire (1990). Following the suicide of her husband, producer Edgar Rosenberg, Rivers and her daughter starred together in Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story (1994). Her feature film credits include Serial Mom (1994). In 1998, Joan and Melissa began hosting fashion specials on the E! cable network. Lightly creased. Photocopy marks.
