Designed by the legendary sculptor James Earl Fraser, it symbolizes the romance and history of the American West. The first Buffalo Nickel appeared in 1913, and the coin continued to be struck until 1938. This collectible keepsake includes on of the last Buffalo Nickels struck in 1938. All of the 1938 dated coins were produced at the Denver Mint and feature the small "D" mint mark under the denomination on the reverse. The 1938 Buffalo Nickel was also the last regular-issue Nickel to display an image representing liberty rather than honoring a President. The Nickel comes in a two sided colorful and informative mount (7" x 5") with a certificate of authenticity and protective plastic sleeve.
