This is an outstanding handsome antique corkscrew in excellent estate condition. The handle is of horn material, and the corkscrew features a significant sterling silver (marked) cap with an applied grape cluster and leaf. Note the detailed repousse workmanship. The worm is perfect. Please excuse the reflections on the photos; there are no streaks or other defects on the cap. The cap is marked "sterling" with "18" above it; also, there is a small maker's mark below "sterling", but I can't make it out. This piece measures almost 9" from the tip diagonally to the edge of the cap. The length from the top of the handle to the tip of the worm is 5 1/2", and its weight is just over 8 ounces.
