Check the listing for details. Late Viking-era sword with sheath. Condition: New. Listed at 213.74 USD. Late Viking-era sword with sheath Late Viking-era sword with sheath In the Upper Middle Ages, Viking swords had begun to lose some of their most characteristic features, such as the broad, unhusy blade and lobed knob. Viking swords began to look more like the long swords characteristic of the Middle Ages. This replica faithful to the original has replaced the lobe knob with the Brazil nut shape and the short, thick protection of previous weapons has been slimmed down and extended into a characteristic medieval cruciform. This sword is made exclusively by hand. The blade is hand-riveted to the knob. The handle has leather straps. The blade has a distinctive fuller that offers great flexibility and lower weight. The edges of the blade are not sharp. The beautiful wooden sheath is lined in leather and features a wooden belt clip (maximum belt width 5 cm), as well as a richly ornate brass layer. Details: Blade material: EN45 spring steel, heat treated up to approx. 48 HRC. Overall length: approx. 95 cm. Blade length: approx. 79.5 cm. Max. blade width: approx. 55 mm. It includes a leather-lined wooden sheath. Weight (without sheath): approx. 1300 g. Handmade by master craftsmen from Toledo.
