Its obverse depicts Moshoeshoe I holding a club and the coat of arms of Lesotho with a crocodile on a shield flanked by Basotho horses. It also displays an outline of the Basotho shield, a lance, and a club. The reverse depicts a man on a horse with a pack mule and a rock formation on the Qiloane plateau.
