Good enough for a billionaire. We purchased this saddle from a horse and tack action in Linwood, KS in September 2009. It hasn't been used since we purchased it. The email in the photos from Mclelland's Inc. Saddlery shows the saddle was built in 1988 and the cost of building the same saddle in 2009 would be $20,000 to $25,000 [according to the 2009 email]. A name plate just below the horn neck has the name Nancy Laurie. The corner plates on the rear of the skirting have the initials NLW with the middle letter larger, indicating the correct order would be NWL. The saddle is in excellent condition with a little honest wear on the suede seat. The saddle has a generous amount of engraved silver, gold material and black onyx that is very tastefully done. D-ring [rope carrier] next to horn has small black onyx stone missing. This is visible in the pictures - just want to be sure you are aware. Linwood Kansas is located about 160 miles from Columbia, MO where a large horse farm is located that is owned by a billionaire heiress with the same name and initials that are on the saddle.
