Unfinished bright steel (correct), still has some preservative cosmoline grease on it. Sale if for one (1) 22 coil spring. A 22 coil spring is needed if you are restoring your carbine to early to mid WW2 configuration (late 1943 or before)- later springs were redesigned with 26 coils for increased tension.
