This uncirculated 500 Malawian kwacha banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of Malawi. It is a brown and blue banknote that is dated 01 November 2005, bears the signature of Bank Governor Victor Mbewe, and measures 162 mm x 81 mm. Its obverse side shows two fishermen in a boat on Lake Malawi and a portrait of John Chilembwe. Its reverse side depicts a view of the Reserve Bank of Malawi headquarters building and animals in the savannah. Security features include a holographic stripe, a windowed security thread with a demetalized RBM, a woman carrying a bowl on her head as a registration device, and a watermark of Chilembwe with an electrotype 500. This banknote was demonetized in 2013.
