Marx 1971 Type I Dimetrodon Reptile Dinosaur Waxy Light Gray. Dimetrodon was actually a reptile and not a dinosaur. Approximately 3 1/2" in length. Dimetrodon Type I mold was used beginning in 1955. Type II mold is believed to have been employed simultaneously. Type III mold was used beginning in 1959. All three mold types were used by Marx to produce flat-colored through the 1960s. In the 1970s, all three were used by Marx to produce waxy-colored figures. Figures produced from the molds after 1979 were not produced by Marx. Note difference in the three types in separate photo.
