The removable plastic stays and padding on this ankle stabilizing orthosis have been upgraded to offer a lower profile and enhanced comfort. The ASO with Plastic Stays is bilateral and fits either the left or right foot. Features: Plastic stays: Removable plastic stays allow for enhanced proprioceptive support. Stabilizing straps: The stabilizing straps are now angled to better contour above the malleolii for enhanced comfort and better migration resistance. Nylon stabilizing straps form a complete figure-eight to help stabilize the subtalar and talocrural joints. Elastic cuff closure: Circumferential woven elastic cuff keeps laces and stabilizing straps secure. In addition, it works in concert with the upper boot to resist the inversion or eversion forces. CoolFlex Achilles Pad & Tongue: CoolFlex™ padding has been increased on the inside of the boot along the Achilles tendon to provide greater comfort. The shoe lace is attached to the tongue to ensure lace is always centered. Invisible Seam: There is no longer a seam under the foot. The seam is now hidden along the rear portion of the boot to improve comfort.
