These cutters are made to work well on memory wire as well as heavier gauges of soft jewelry wire, such as copper, silver, gold and gold-filled. They leave a nice flat, flush cut on both sides and you don't lose any of your wire as scrap. In the photo above you can see that I've made a nice, clean cut in 10 ga. copper wire, as well as the usual smaller gauge of steel memory wire. They measure 5" long overall, and have a return spring as well as ergonomic plastic grips. When you use this type of bypass-jaw cutters, always make your cut quickly and firmly for the best results. Periodic oiling of the jaws and the hinge is always recommended. ***Better quality, good for everyday use
