Pour directly into the pool, with the circulation system running and while pouring away from the skimmer.Initial Stain and Scale Removal:Prior to treatment: Verify stains are caused by metal. Testing for stains is easy, you could use a suitable test kit, or you can visit ESLMetalShield.com/test for complete instructions for an alternative method to test for metal stains.Balance the Water: Adjust the water balance to standard ranges: pH 7.2 - 7.8, alkalinity 80 - 120, and calcium 100 - 400.Add Metal Shield: Add one quart (32 ounces) of MetalShield for every 10,000 gallons of water. No premixing is necessary. Pour directly into pool, while circulating, and away from the skimmer.Circulate for 48 hours: Run your circulation system for 48 hours while the stains are lifting. Tougher stains may require a second application.
