Militaries world wide have been using cardboard boxes to deliver supplies, rations and equipment since WWI. Many boxes were frequently repurposed which may be the reason for the stenciling of "UTENSILS" on this box. The box is OD green, constructed with high density cardboard with rivet head staples, and brass plated steel corner reinforcements, the closure is a woven canvas strap with steel tip and buckle. The box has water staining that has not affected the integrity of the box.
