You can look for glue on the inside surface of the eye piece where the retaining ring screws in. Does your ring have a “split” for a tool, or is it smooth? If it is smooth, it is most likely glued in, if there is a split, it may not be. Don’t use more force than you can exert with your hand — that means it is glued in.Be sure to turn OFF your flash before use.
