And the design performed differently for every builder. Flying wings are peculiar aircraft. My wife still laughs when she recalls my attempt to get control of my first UC flying wing. It resembled the flying planks that were later used in combat with the elevator on the trailing edge---with no gap. It went nowhere I wanted it to go and everywhere it wanted to go!!! The CG was so critical that I never found the right spot. (But enough of my confessions.) So many wrote "Wild Bill" Netzeband about the eccentricities of his design that he redid everything about it and came out in 1968 with this FIERCE ARROW 400 Sport Stunt design that can do the pattern with just a .15 engine. The span is 38" and the PLAN has construction illustrations that allow successful scratch building. Bill's explanation of the aerodynamics of this new flying wing is worth the construction article just to learn from.
