Description Captain Hook is a 2-in-1 pedal that features an octave fuzz and an independent clean boost. This machine, born from the idea of French guitarist Zacharie Defaut, was produced in a very small number of 70 units in 2019 and sold out immediately. This time, with the cooperation of Copper Sound, it is back in limited quantities as a Japan-only model in a special color (the original had a black body with yellow letters)! [Sound characteristics] This fuzz has high gain, low noise, and allows you to easily get a thick, gated sound. Zacharie was looking for an octave fuzz similar to Jimi Hendrix's Octavia. There he designed a trance-based octave fuzz. Analog octave circuits using transformers and diodes have more presence as the resistance value increases, so the lower the GAIN setting, the more clearly the octave sound will be heard. Just turning it on will cause severe distortion even if the GAIN setting is 0. At that point, the ``Captain Hook sound'' has been created, and as you increase the GAIN, the compression becomes stronger, and near the maximum value, you get the unique collapse feeling of a fuzz. ●JFET booster circuit A JFET booster circuit is installed in the input section to achieve a well-defined sound with sufficient sustain and cut. *The booster can be used alone even when the fuzz side is turned off. ● BOOST (Clean Boost) position selection using the FIRST switch The FIRST switch allows you to select the position of the BOOST (Clean Boost) section in front or behind the Faiz circuit. Our GRAVITY BOMB (BOOST & BUFFER) circuit is used for boost. If you place it before the drive circuit, gain will be added when boosting, producing a thicker fuzz sound. Moving it towards the back adds volume. ● 9V/18V drive 18V provides a wider dynamic range.
