Level off and firm lightly. Water thoroughly using a watering can with a fine rose and allow to drain. To help germination of very small seeds sow on the surface but do not cover with compost. Rewater sparingly. Cover the tray with either black polythene or retain moisture and keep out of the light. Maintain the correct temperature for germination. Once the seeds have germinated, remove the cover and place the tray in daylight but not direct sunlight. When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick them out gently (handle them by their leaves only) Pot in Larger pots using COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost. Potting Fill pots very loosely with COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost. Plant with the minimum of firming. Water plants well so that all compost is moistened. Please remember to take care with fragile roots. Taking cuttingsWater the parent plant 24 hours before taking cuttings. Use a sharp knife to cut off young shoots, trimming each one just below the leaf joint and removing the lower leaves. Fill pots of containers with COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost and level off. Make holes in the compost and insert the cuttings. Firm gently around the plant and water well using a watering can with a fine rase. To help your cuttings to establish, cover each pot with a clear polythene bag to avoid a moisture loss. Put a few small holes in the bag for ventilation and do not allow the leaves to touch the polythene. When a healthy root system has developed, remove the bag and water. RepottingDuring spring, summer and early autumn plants can be potted on although house plants are normally re - potted in spring. Water the plant and allow it to drain. To remove, gently squeeze the pot, then turn it upside down whilst carefull supporting the plant in one hand. Sharply tap the pot to release the plant, but do not disturb the root ball. Place a layer of COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost in the new pot (one size larger) and put the plant on it. Fill the remember of the pot with compost, firming tightly around the root ball. Water well using a watering can with a fine rose. Hanging BasketsLine basket with a Rubberized Cotr Liner, or COCOS plus Mulch Fibres. Half fill the basket with COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost and place plants on top. Fill the basket with compost to within 12mm (half Inch) of rim and water well. Feeding COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost will supply the nutrients needed for strong healthy growth during the first 3-4 weeks. After that feed them every 7-14 days with a proprietary liquid soluble feed. WaterringRemember that COCOS plus Multipurpose Compost may require frequent watering and therefore give adequate water when watering is required. Keep the compost moist, although not consistently over-wet, particularly in winter. Avoid drying out of the compost and if this occurs, ensure sufficient remoistening.
