NICE EARLY CORBIN MORTISE LOCK w/KEY - 6 3/4" FACE FULLY RESTORED (40939)Vintage, Circa 1850-60, fully restored, with key works perfectly, very nice, the lock is reversible. This locks pre-dates Corbin numbering their mortise locks. Based on the size of the mortise it may have been used on an entry door. FACEPLATE: Faceplate is brass, 6 3/4" long, 1" wide, 1/8" thick. BOX: Box is 3 7/8" deep from the front edge of the face plate to the back of the box and the box is 5" top to bottom. SCREWS: Screw holes are on 5 3/4" centers. BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 3". . DROP: Drop (the distance from the center of the knob post hole down to the center of the round portion of the key hole) is 3 1/8".KNOB POST: The lock requires a standard 5/16" knob post.REVERSIBILITY: The lock is reversible, see Hand of Doors picture to know if it is right for your project and let us know before we ship if you would like us to reverse it for you.
