It is the industry practice to pattern skeet guns of all gauges at 25 yards. Use the same ammunition you would use in hunting. A change of load or even shot size may make a marked difference in pattern quality. This time aim the gun carefully since it is necessary to center the pattern on the 30" circle for a correct pattern count. Count the pellets striking in the 30-inch circle and divide by the total number of pellets in the charge. Multiplying this result by 100 gives the pattern percentage. Fire at least five patterns with each load and barrel.
