The Ocean Reef high performance balanced diaphragm 1st-stage regulator is specifically designed for hi performance with Ocean Reef Full Face Masks high volume demands supplied by Ocean Reef 2nd Stages The regulators use a diaphragm design to create an environmentally sealed mechanism to ensure durability and high performance even in contaminated water. The balanced diaphragm, chrome plated marine brass first stage regulator is inherently environmentally sealed. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the delicate internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants can cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. With the SL35TX there is a secondary environmental diaphragm membrane that seals off the spring chamber keeping the first stage completely sealed off from the environment adding a second layer of corrosion resistance and prevention of freezing in cold water use. The regulator has an adjustable intermediate pressure to meet varying supply pressure requirements. The body of the regulator is made of marine grade brass with a satin body finish and internally has a stainless-steel piston, Teflon seat, and stainless steel spring. Screw in DIN connection or yoke with 2 high pressure ports 7/16-20 UNF and 4 low pressure ports 3/8-24 UNF with a superior flow rate of approx. 170 cubic feet per minute (4800 l/m) at 2030.5 psi (140 bars).
