This unit powers up using the internal battery or power cord, and accurately reads room temperature with the included probe. I fully charged the internal battery, let the unit sit off and unplugged for 3 months, then took the reading you see in the picture. Other than taking the room temperature, I am unfamiliar with the operation of this unit, but would happy to perform other tests if instructed how to do so. I will answer any questions or provide more pictures upon request.
