A fine, antique theater glass or opera glass in a classic design, made about the turn of the century (approx. 1880–1910) and can be assigned stylistically to late historicism or early Art Nouveau. Such pieces served women and men in the theater, opera and society not only as a visual aid, but also as an elegant fashion accessory. Made of polished brass, partly gold-plated. The gold plating is slightly rubbed due to age in some places, particularly on the raised edges and the mechanism. The frames of the eyepieces (eyecups) are made of mother-of-pearl. The focus is adjusted via a central knurled wheel in the connecting bridge. Dimensions: approx. 8.7 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm. Open height: approx. 4cm. Weight: 88 grams. Good used condition, age-related signs of wear, function not checked (see photos).
