The overall color scheme is unified with shades of green, giving it a vibrant yet refined appearance. After cutting the paper, the colors are applied by allowing the dye to soak in. (The white parts you see, such as the feather patterns and pine needles, are cut-out sections where the white backing paper shows through.) Since this technique is very time-consuming, it has become quite rare nowadays.
