Trucks as PEZ dispensers sounded like a good idea in 1979. It went over well, prompting many variations and colors. Initially, trucks had only one rear axel (Series A) but quickly went to a two rear axel design (Series B). All the wheels on these trucks turned. In 1981, Yugoslavia began to make the trucks and the cabs were modified to look more like traditional Semi-Trucks - still with moveable wheels (Series C). Distinct cab styles are stamped on the side of the cab: 1,2,3,4,5,16,R1, R2, R3, R4. In 1987 feet began to appear on PEZ dispensers, but not on trucks - No need, as trucks were displayed flat on their wheels. The 4.9 patent was issued in 1990 but did not show up at all plants immediately. In 1991, the wheels on the rear of the truck were made immobile (Series D). Yugoslavia finally changed the stem of Series D trucks from 3.9 to 4.9 in mid 1991. In 1993, The country changed its name to Slovenia. The traditional cab colors of "D" trucks are red, blue, green, yellow. There are variations of the blue (Dark Blue, Teal). Additionally, GITD trucks were issued as a special mail in offer and came in many variations. In 2004, A completely new truck series called Big Rigs appeared (along with specialty editions such as the Walgreens trucks). In 2010, additional Big Rig specialty trucks were issued including CVS Pharmacy, Rite-Aid Pharmacy, Ace hardware, Hollywood Video, WaWa Grocery and Wegman's Grocery (two varieties). In 2011, even more specialty trucks were issued: Craftsmen, HyVee, Safeway, another Wegman's, and 4 Walmart trucks sporting various logo designs through the years. In 2013, Safeway Foods expanded their truck line to include all 7 of their regional brands: Carrs, Dominick's, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Vons, as well as a newly designed Safeway. More are added all the time. This listing is for the various Big Rig Trucks and Power Trucks issued between 2004 and NOW. Some trucks may not be currently available.
