This Rare 1913 Robert Burns Sterling Armorial Collector Spoon has the maker mark of Joseph Cook & Son and Birmingham assay mark. Robert Burns is regarded as the National Poet of Scotland. The shield has the motto “Better a wee bush than nae bield” (a small bush is better than no shelter at all.) which Burns used to seal his correspondence. The spoon also has a woodlark perched on a sprig of a Bay tree, a holly bush under a shepherd's pipe and crook. This rare Robert Burns spoon is in excellent condition with all marks.
