A Brake Pressure Reducer allows you to install Brake Master in hybrids or any other vehicle with a full-time ('active') power braking system. Most air-powered supplemental braking systems are designed to work on a 'dead' brake pedal. This means they press harder on the brake pedal. But some late model vehicles retain power brakes even when the ignition is off. This is known as 'active' or full-time power braking. The Brake Pressure Reducer regulates the high pressure down to prevent over-braking, lock-ups or flat spotting of the tires. Although designed for the Brake Master, the Brake Pressure Reducer will work with other supplemental braking systems which use pressurized air to brake the towed vehicle. .
