Its obverse features the Banco Central headquarters building in Sao Tome, a charaxes barnsi butterfly, and the coat of arms of Sao Tome and Principe. The reverse depicts a stylized cocoa pod, a butterfly, and a map of Sao Tome and Principe. It also features a Sao Tome giant tree frog clutching a branch. The note contains a red-to-green windowed security thread with a demetallized BCSTP. Its watermark reveals Rei Amador and an electrotype butterfly.
