The bit is in clean well maintained with light surface wear and light teeth marks on the soft brass mouthpiece. This is a Level 2 bit for use on a horse that is well started in its training and on the way to becoming a finished horse. The solid brass mouthpiece measures 5 inches wide by 3/8 inch in diameter with a copper roller. This is a great bit with a medium effect that is good for communicating with an intermediate level horse. The short shanks measure 4-1/2 inches in length with a 2-1/2 inch purchase for a mild 2 to one leverage ratio. This bit encourages the horse to flex at the poll and submit softly to the bit. This is a really nice bit for showing, or training and is a great addition to any training collection.
