The entire connector is 30-micron silver plated for low contact resistance: the center contact is beryllium copper with 5-micron Gold Plating.Beryllium Copper is an alloy consisting of brass with beryllium added giving spring action property to the center contact. The female center contact expands when the male pin is inserted and holds positive contact pressure on the pin. When the pin is removed, the center contact returns to the normal position. This connector is rated at 500+ connection cycles. The dielectric is DuPont Teflon® offering excellent permittivity.
