There’s not much information available about Snell Manufacturing Company, but, fortunately, the very interesting website, “Progress is fine, but it’s gone on for too long”, has some of the basics. (https://archive.org/details/SnellMfgCo1920/page/n1/mode/2up). A version of this Expansive Bit appears in the Catalog. The Bit is in usable condition. The Cutter is sharp but whether it is ready for work we cannot say. It appears that the original screw used to secure the Cutter has been replaced. The replacement seems to work properly. As with other tools from “back in the day” the quality of manufacturing is high.
