It often represented the life, death and rebirth cycle. Similarly, it was a symbol of the sun, rising, setting and rising again. This relief tile is hand pressed in stoneware and glazed in two colors, emphasizing its sculptural dimension. Tile measures roughly 3 and 5/8 inches high by 3 and 5/8 inches wide and is about 5/8 of an inch thick at the edges and an inch thick at its deepest point. It is notched on the back so it can hang on a nail.
