Rare Form 3 ¼” x 4” x 1 3/8” tall. The opening for the candle is 7/16” in diameter. 2.37 troy ounces. This is probably a unique piece. I purchased it decades ago. It is a very unusual form. It is too small to be a chamber stick, and too large to be part of an inkstand. Also there is no fitting on the bottom to attach to an inkstand. I would date it to approximately 1750 give or take. The TH mark has been attributed to Thomas Hammersley of NY. I have finally decided it is a duty dodging British mark. On the underside of the rim are some scratch engravings 2 .13 which could refer to 2 ounces 13 dwt. or 2.65 troy oz which would work as the current weight is 2.37 troy oz. which would mean during use the piece lost a little weight, as expected.
