Check the listing for details. Springfield percussion "Belgian" conversion hammer 085. Condition: Used. Listed at 75.00 USD. Springfield percussion "Belgian" conversion hammer. Used on M1816 and M1835 muskets converted to the cone [nipple in barrel] or Belgian system until the system was found to be insufficiently strong and bolster conversions became the standard. This is the extreme offset hammer that is meant to strike a nipple screwed into the barrel and will not align with bolsters having the nipple to the right of the barrel. Has good inspector marks. Light gray patina with slight granular surfaces.
