It is a closed system, contaminated surfaces need never be touched by either the user or service personnel. The first of three stages is a Pre-filter. It's function is to capture gross particulate. The second stage filtration is by an activated charcoal filter media which is adsorptive to both odorous and toxic gases. The third stage filtration is by an ULPA (ultra-low penetration air) filter media, designed for capture of sub-micron particulate and microorganisms in size down to 0.01 micron, with an efficiency of 99.9999%. The second and third stage filtration media are contained within the ULPA/Charcoal Filter (ES-2000/ULC). This filter has been designed for 25 hours total accumulated operating time. Consumed usage is progressively indicated by an LED Bar on the ES-2000 control panel. After 22 1/2 hours, the LED bar illuminates amber. After 25 hours, the LED bar flashes red, and the filter should be replaced. Suction flow is provided by a two-stage, thru-flow, centrifugal action blower. Electronic controls provide that the unit will return to the previously used flow setting when turned on and default to "normal" if unplugged. This applies in both the use of the pnuematically activated footswitch and in the use of the main on/off switch. Condition & Testing: This Stackhouse AirSafe ES-2000 is in Excellent Cosmetic and Tested Working condition. I tested all functions and everything is working fine. A visual inspection of the filters was conducted, and the prefilter is new and there is minimal to no debris in the ULPA filter is reading good on the machine sensor when installed and turned on. The power cord is in excellent shape. Pneumatic footswitch works good. All 4 swivel wheels on rolling unit move with ease. The canisters are new.
