This is the earliest type I've been able to find that was made in the UK. Roughly equivalent to the US type 16s (there were no Stanley planes made in the UK before the 1930s) The Cutting iron shape and lateral lever stamp match the US type in style. The handles are rosewood, and of a slightly different shape to the US ones, as well as being different to the ones Record used on their early planes. The plane itself is in excellent shape. It has been disassembled, cleaned and oiled but it was in good condition prior to the refurb. The cutter has been given a quick sharpen to test performance. The handles are fully intact and retain most of the original finish, and they have been given a light wax buff.
