A wow piece of studio pottery — a hand-thrown stoneware teapot with a fabulous, hand-built arching branch handle formed from twisted coils of clay, a sculptural branch-form spout, and applied trailing vine with detailed leaf and bud forms cascading down the body. The fitted lid carries a small twig-and-leaf finial that echoes the handle. The glaze is a rich iron brown with warm golden highlights that concentrate beautifully in the textured relief. Unsigned. There is a minor chip to the spout tip that is detectable by touch but not visually prominent - see pics for details and measurements. A genuinely sculptural object that will stand out in any collection!
