Sal Taibi's STARDUSTER-X was a larger 43-3/4”span version of his popular STARDUSTER high thrust line free flight that allowed old timers to use the (then new) screaming Cox TD .049s. Pop remarked that his always went straight up and rolled out nicely into its glide using a Cox TD .049. Here is a copy of my original kit PLAN plus a copy of the kit parts patterns. This design is one of the finest performing free flights ever. Back then Pop had 17 different designs on hand to take to the field. TRACED ONTO THE PLAN IS AN OUTLINE OF THE WING & STAB RIBS SHOWING NOTCHES TO CUT IN THE RIBS TO ADD "TURBULATOR" SPARS ON TOP OF THE RIBS TO STRENGTHEN THE WING & PREVENT WARPING WHEN SCREAMING UP WITH A TD .049 OR .051 ENGINE. IN SOME KITS, THE RIBS DID NOT COME WITH THESE NOTCHES PRECUT TO ALLOW USE OF THESE FULL-LENGTH 1/16th" SPARS. As a BONUS I include a nice 3-view of the STARDUSTER-X.
