Telescope pointing ... -use your Laser Pointer with this eyepiece adapter “Find a need and fill it “ Have you ever tried to aim your telescope at a star that is clearly seen, when your finder scope is not yet set up and you can’t seem to find the star in the main telescope eyepiece… Of course you have. Now a solution… Pictured above is the newly created Eyepiece Laser Adapter. You probably already have a green laser pointer that you use to point out objects in the sky. (laser pointer NOT provided in this offering) and no. not the telescope either This adapter allows your laser pointer to be placed in the eyepiece focus tube and when turned on will follow the optical path of the main telescope and point to the object in the sky. Now it is easy to set your finder scope, your mounted laser. or your red dot finder to the same object and enjoy the rest of the night. It consists of a PVC pipe that has been turned to 1 1/4 inch diameter to fit into your eyepiece holder. There is a rubber block inside that the laser pointer can be pressed into to hold firmly. Position your laser pointer so that the pushbutton switch is in the clear space. Simply rotating the laser so the button presses against the inner shell of the pipe turns it on. Turn the opposite way to turn off. You may notice that the laser is mounted in the tube off-center, so that when the beam comes out it will miss the secondary mirror and point to the sky, as seen above. The rubber ring can be placed on your laser to keep the beam from exiting there while adjusting it to miss the secondary.... NOTE by moving/rotating the laser in the eyepiece holder, you can hit other areas on the main mirror, and you may notice the beam points to the same spot in the sky. (it has to... parabolic mirror) The eyepiece laser adapter goes into the focus tube in place of the eyepiece for use... after setting up your spotter scope or red dot... replace it with your eyepiece and enjoy the night sky. The rubber ring (supplied) can be placed on your laser to keep the beam from exiting there/ Enjoy Hurry... when people find out how well this works... they won't last long CAUTIONyou will see the beam as it passes thru your telescope AVOID HAVING IT HIT YOUR (OR ANYONE'S EYES)Always use your lasers responsibly(laser pointer NOT provided in this offering) ======== EXTRA INSTRUCTIONS===(if your laser is so built)========= See pic #2... the laser is pressed against the rubber block (supplied) in such a way that the pushbutton switch enters in one of the empty areas beside the laser and adapter. To turn it on... simply twist the laser and the button will be pressed against the side of the adapter. You may notice the laser is OFF CENTER in the adapter, which allows the beam to bypass the secondary, and exit the telescope along the actual optical path. With the beam exiting the telescope it is quick and easy to align your pointer/laser/red dot/or finder scope to match. feedback from a buyer-------------------------------------- I’m new to astronomy and I was struggling using the red dot finder to locate the stars in the sky. With this device and a green point laser, stargazing is super easy. The seller/manufacturer was awesome, he offered to make a special version of the device for me, based on the type of laser I had bought.
