I have spent several years working on crossbreeding exotic breeds to achieve these unique color patterns—featuring the characteristics of standard Orpingtons and Cochins—including mottled, calico, and many other variations. This group of hens is covered by Chocolate Silver Laced and Calico English Orpington roosters, as well as show-quality Black Cochin roosters. Since the aforementioned roosters are not Turkens themselves, there is a possibility that the resulting chicks will not all be Turkens; however, they will still carry the gene. While I cannot guarantee that every chick will be a Turken, there is a 50% probability that they will be.
