U.S. Naval Sabre, 1860 U.S. Naval Sabre, 1860 In 1860 the United States incorporated the Naval Sabre «Cutlass» into its civil war arsenal. It has a hand-forged high carbon steel blade. The blade is made of steel according to the specifications of the British Army and bending of more than 20o. It is an excellent reproduction of the Cutlass designed by Ames and first worn in 1860. Their leaf and handguard in the form of a basket in yellow copper were prepared for hand-to-hand combat on wooden ships and against iron men. The Naval Sabre includes a pod. Length: 80 cm.
