This listing is for a wonderful antique American Art Nouveau Sterling Silver match safe/vesta case, c. 1904. This beautiful silver match safe is decorated with a highly detailed embossed floral garland and burning torches on both sides with design in high relief. Large center cartouche with fancy engraved name "Joe" on one side and dated "Oct. 26, 1904" on reverse. Striker on bottom. The case is in excellent condition with no dents or dings, although the lid sits slightly off at end (see photos) - no other noted flaws. Marked "Sterling" on interior lip edge with maker's stamp "C.B.&H." for "Codding Bros. & Heilborn" of No. Attleboro, MA (1879-1918). Measures 2 1/2" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/8" deep. Weighs 30 grams.
